Master the greens without the guesswork.
We’re a small team of golf nerds obsessed with one question: how do everyday players make more putts? This page explains who we are, how we test, and where to start.
Fast starts (choose one)
- Newer or returning golfer: Build aim and pace with our 10-minute drills. Start here.
- Trying to break 90: Fix your green reading and alignment misses. Start here.
- Single-digit player: Tighten your start line and make more putts from 6 to 15 feet. Start here.
Why we exist
Putting accounts for more strokes than any other part of the game. Master of the Greens breaks it into simple parts: grip and setup, green reading, start line and speed control. We publish step-by-step tutorials, hands-on gear reviews and practical guides you can take to the practice green. (See: Mallet Buyer’s Guide, Alignment Picks, Budget Aids.)
Who we are
Rob: Co-Owner and Editor-in-Chief
Rob runs Master of the Greens day to day and writes and edits the guides you read here. He puts the drills and gear through regular use on the practice green before recommending them, with a focus on start line, speed and green reading. His goal is simple: give everyday golfers 10-minute routines and honest gear reviews that lead to fewer putts and better rounds, without the hype.

Brayden: Co-Owner and Product Tester
Brayden is our product guinea pig. New putters, golf balls, training aids and drills all go through him on the green before we recommend them. He also keeps an eye on which guides readers find most useful, so we know what to improve next. Then he heads out to play.
How we test and review
- We use it on a real green. Putters, balls and training aids go through repeated drills, such as gate drills for start line and long lag putts for distance control.
- We focus on what changes your score: aim, roll and distance control, not just looks.
- We tell you what we tested and what we didn’t. When a comparison is based on published specs rather than our own head-to-head test, the article says so.
- We’re brand-agnostic. We earn through clearly marked affiliate links, and no brand pays for a recommendation.
